Kunal Sood
Kunal Sood is an internationally renowned social entrepreneur, impact investor, and curator of the future, who has made transforming the world his life’s purpose by helping positively impact the lives of a billion people by the year 2030. Sood is the Founder of X Fellows, X Summit, and X Impact Group. He is focused on positively disrupting the human experience by creating a league of extraordinary citizens and experiences that make the impossible possible on Earth. Sood does this by actively partnering with Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, and ethical brands intent on making the world a better place including Google, SAP, and Tencent Holdings as well as social enterprises such as the United Nations, X Prize Foundation, and NASA.
Sood is the Founder of NOVUS, #WeThePlanet, and a TED Resident who has made transforming the world his mission. From serving in the slums of Mumbai to building global movements at the United Nations General Assembly in New York convening Marc Benioff and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he is helping change the lives of a billion people over the next decade. Sood created NOVUS and #WeThePlanet to transform the world, and unite global leaders to reimagine our approach to planet, people, peace, prosperity, and partnership. He has convened extraordinary experiences including TEDx at the United Nations and NOVUS Summit at the UN General Assembly to unite humanity through science, innovation, and technology to help achieve the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
For his steadfast commitment to the field of social innovation, impact, and global work with life-saving drones, Sood is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships that include the Media for Social Impact Award at the United Nations, World Innovation Award, TiECon Award, New York Space Alliance (NYSA) Leadership Award for Unwavering Dedication to Bringing Space Closer to Humanity, Non-Violence Award, and RoundGlass Samsara Lifetime Achievement Award at the Legislative Parliament of India. Sood is also a Stanford CCARE Fellow and Singularity University Field Exchange Fellow. He has been a keynote speaker at Forbes Impact, TED, Nexus, Google, SAP, Harvard Club, University of Pennsylvania Club, Aspen Institute, United Nations, and the White House. Sood earned his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and graduated from UCSF with a Master of Science degree in Global Health, and the University of Pennsylvania with his MA in Positive Psychology. He currently serves as Global Ambassador for the Non-Violence Project, Singularity University, and OpenEXO. He serves as special innovation advisor to the Republic of Palau and on the Advisory Boards of EdCast, and Lottery.com.
