In January 2019, Camilla Opperman was searching high and low for licensed kitchen space to launch a food business. She quickly became frustrated with her options: dedicated kitchens were expensive and required a long-term lease commitment; but the affordable and flexible shared kitchens were run-down and operated poorly.

After months of this search, Camilla decided to take matters into her own hands, pivoted her business plans, and launched Nimbus. Her mission was simple: provide an elevated, flexible, and affordable kitchen solution for food businesses looking to launch or expand their operations. 

In less than a year since launch, Camilla and her business partner have closed a pre-seed round of financing, conceptualized and kicked off construction for the first Nimbus facility, and signed up numerous restaurants, catering companies, and food entrepreneurs as founding Nimbus members. Nimbus remains the only premium and flexible commissary kitchen in the market that is optimized for off-premise food prep, food innovation, and community enhancement via state-of-the-art facilities, operational support, and event programming.

Camilla holds a Dual-BA in Political Science and History of Art from Yale University. She was the Captain of the Yale NCAA Division I Gymnastics team and two-time USA Gymnastics All-American.
